Meet
Dr. Schmidt: David R. Schmidt, M.D., received
his medical training at the UT Health Science Center at San
Antonio where he also completed his Residency in Orthopaedic
Surgery. He completed fellowships in Sports Medicine and
knee surgery in Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, New
Zealand. He has been in private practice since 1986.
He served as physician for the US Olympic Festival, the World
University Games in Japan, the Olympic Games in Atlanta and the
NBA All-Star Game. He currently serves as the team physician for the
NBA San Antonio Spurs, WNBA Silver Stars, Trinity University and
many local high schools. He is Board Certified by the
American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His expertise is
in knee surgery and cartilage repair/restoration. |

Meet
Dr. Saenz: Paul S. Saenz, D.O., a native San
Antonian, received his medical education at the Texas College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. He completed his
Family Practice training in Phoenix, AZ followed by a Sports
Medicine fellowship in Seattle, WA. He returned to San
Antonio in 1988 and established himself as the city's first
Primary Care Sports Medicine specialist. He serves as a
team physician for the NBA San Antonio Spurs, the WNBA Silver
Stars, the San Antonio Missions Double A Baseball Club, and USA
Boxing. He was appointed to the medical staff for the 1996
Olympic Games in Atlanta and for 1998 Goodwill Games in New York
City. He will serve as team physician for the USA
Pentathlon at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. He
is Board Certified in both Family Practice and Sports Medicine. |

Meet
Dr. Curtis: After
graduating from UT-Austin, Dr. Ralph J. “Bud” Curtis
received his medical training at the UT Medical School in San
Antonio, where he also completed a residency program in
Orthopaedic Surgery. He
completed a post graduate fellowship in Shoulder Surgery at the
UT Health Science Center – San Antonio and has been a clinical
faculty member since 1986.
He has authored six text book chapters in orthopaedics
and sports medicine. Dr. Curtis is Board Certified by the American Board of
Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons. He
serves as a team physician for many San Antonio area high
schools and the University of the Incarnate Word.
He is the shoulder consultant for the NBA San Antonio
Spurs, the WNBA San Antonio Silver Stars, the San Antonio
Missions AA Baseball Club and USA Swimming. Dr. Curtis is
a past President of the Texas Society of Sports medicine.
He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic
Society for Sports Medicine and the American Shoulder and Elbow
Surgeons. |

Meet
Dr. Palomera: A native of San Antonio,
Timothy S. Palomera M.D., performed both his undergraduate and medical
training in the Alamo City where he received his medical degree
from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1997.
After graduation from the Family Medicine Residency Program,
where he served as Chief Resident he completed a Sports Medicine
Fellowship. He is board certified in Family Medicine.
He serves as Team Physician for the AHL San Antonio Rampage,
WNBA Silver Stars, Trinity University and several local high
schools. He specializes
in the non-operative treatment of sports injuries including the
treatment of injuries to the head, spine, and upper and lower
extremities. |

Meet
Dr. Allen: Dr. Marque A. Allen graduated
Magna Cum Laude from Rowen University. He received his
medical training at Temple University School of Podiatric
Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Allen received
residency training in foot and ankle surgery within The Thomas
Jefferson University, Health System in Philadelphia, followed by
fellowship training at the University of Texas Health Science
Center. Dr. Allen holds associate membership in the
American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Fellowship
status in the American College of Podiatric Sports
Medicine. He also serves on the advisory board for the
Journal of Foot and Ankle Quarterly and the Journal of Foot and
Ankle Surgery. |

Meet
Dr. Steffen: Dr. Richard T. Steffen received his medical training
from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami,
Florida and performed his residency at Wilford Hall Medical
Center at Lackland, AFB.
He is board certified in Orthopadic surgery and is a
member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has
completed his fellowship in sports medicine.
He specializes in surgical treatment of shoulder, hip,
and knee injuries. |
